Scraps

Directed and written by Emily Norling

Three teens disguise themselves for the ritual “Skråbock”, a local tradition of begging for Christmas leftovers. They visit their neighbours’ houses and are let in with varied enthusiasm. But the teens hunger for more than food and push the ritual’s limits. And by the end of the night rules have vanished and anything can happen.

Scraps is an intoxicating blend of folklore and playful experimentation with form which explores the cultural occurrence of the tradition Skråbock and connects the younger generation to the older generations that have lived there. A road movie by foot about a night that spirals out of control.
