Almost Forever follows Jasmine, Philip, and their friends through five formative years as they navigate friendship, love, and identity across Stockholm. Jasmine, cool but sensitive, longs for her distant father and tries to balance her time between friends and boyfriends whilst Philip, warm and funny, is struggling with his self esteem and trying to find a way to not be friend-zoned. 

Their close-knit crew roams the city—skating, talking, filming themselves—until adolescence brings new tensions. Rumors, shifting loyalties, first heartbreaks, and questions of consent and cancel culture begin to test them. As high school approaches, both face the chance to redefine who they want to be. The film captures the tenderness and turbulence of growing up, portraying a generation shaping itself amid change.

Almost Forever is produced by Melissa Lindgren / Story in co-production with SVT, Film Västernorrland and napafilms and with support from Swedish Film Institute, The Finnish Film Foundation, Nordisk Film & TV Fond, The Creative Europe Media Program and Swedish Arts Grants Committee.

Three teens disguise themselves for the ritual “Skråbock”, a local tradition of begging for Christmas leftovers. They visit their neighbours’ houses and are let in with more or less enthusiasm. But the teens hunger for more than food and explore the ritual’s limits. Scraps is a road movie by foot about a night that spirals out of control.

During the years 1958 to 1989, the Swedish public broadcaster SVT’s reporting from Israel and Palestine was unique. Their reporters were constantly present in the war-affected region, documenting everything from everyday life to international crises.

This extensive treasure of footage makes up the material for Göran Hugo Olsson’s new film, where footage of the rise of the Israeli state is interwoven with the Palestinian struggle for independence. News coverage with Yasser Arafat and interviews with Israeli foreign minister Abba Eban during a visit to Sweden are parts of exclusive archive material that has not been shown since first broadcast.

Combined, they tell the story of a changed media landscape and give us tools to understand a conflict that has affected our time like few others

The festival spring continues with CPH:DOX and we can once again present a cavalcade of premieres! Göran Hugo Olsson and Roxy Farhat’s long-awaited La Société du Spectacle is selected for the New Vision Competition, the section for works in the field between film and art. The hybrid documentary Megaheartz by Emily Norling will have it’s world premier in the Next Wave Competition, where innovative films by emerging directors meets and audience. Labor by Tove Pils and Hypermoon by Mia Engberg are selected for the Nordic competition and will receive their international premiere at CPH:DOX. Finally – Our Love by Lia Hietala and Hannah Reinikainen has been selected to CPH:FORUM and will be pitched during the festival.
