Sophie Vuković is a Stockholm-based filmmaker. Her work is situated between documentary and fiction and has explored intimacy, identity, and migration. Her first short film 09:55-11:05, Ingrid Ekman (2015) received 12 awards for best short film at festivals internationally. Her feature-length debut Shapeshifters (2017) explored migration and belonging beyond national borders in a hybrid documentary form. Shapeshifters premiered internationally in competition at CPH:DOX and was nominated for several festival awards. Her work has been screened in both cinemas and museums, such as Moderna Museet and Konsthall C in Stockholm. She is currently completing an MFA at the Royal Institute of Art in Stockholm and developing several shorts and a new fiction feature film.
