Mia Engberg is a filmmaker and author born in Stockholm 1970. She has directed and produced a number of films ranging from cinema direct documentaries to poetic feature films exploring autofiction and the notion of time and passion. She was the curator and producer of the project Dirty Diaries – 12 shorts of feminist porn that is considered a milestone in queer feminist film history.
Her Belleville trilogy: Belleville Baby, Lucky One and Hypermoon has received a number of international awards among others Dokufest Grand Prix, Eurimages Audentia Award, Prix Sauvage de Paris and Guldbagge Award. There is also a fourth secret part to the trilogy; Secrets of the Sun, which is an experimental feature with no image.
